Revego Africa Energy Limited, Africa’s first sub-Saharan renewable energy yield company, has acquired a trio of PV assets in South Africa (total 52 MW) – Aries, Konkoonsies (both 11 MW), and Soutpan (30 MW) – through its investments in the Revego Africa Energy Fund. All three plants were built under South Africa’s REIPPPP program and contribute to the nation’s clean energy goals. Collectively, they generate 105,000 MWh annually, powering 23,000 homes and reducing CO2 emissions by 29,000 tons. Leading developer, owner and operator of independent power projects in Africa, Globeleq is the majority shareholder in all three assets. This acquisition strengthens Revego’s portfolio (now with 4 solar and 3 wind assets, all with a 20-year PPA) and is supported by a £15 million follow-on commitment from UK Climate Investments, a UK government initiative for green energy investments.
