Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc., has acquired a 420 MW PV portfolio in Spain’s Carmona, Seville. The portfolio comprises four projects – Rey I, II, III and IV – under construction, employing Canadian Solar’s TopBiHiKu7 N-type bifacial TOPCon modules. Estimated to generate 916,000 MWh annually, the plant is expected to power 275,000 homes and reduce CO2 emissions by 184,000 tons. The projects also promise local economic growth and job creation, contributing positively to the region’s development. In 2024, Recurrent Energy aims to initiate construction on over 1 GW of solar projects in Spain, marking significant progress in their expansion efforts globally.
