Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, a UK-based firm, has secured two long-term agreements with Tesco and Shell for 100% of the solar energy generated by Cleve Hill Solar Park. The 373 MW solar and 150 MW battery storage facility will be the largest in the UK, commencing operations in 2025, says Quinbrook. According to Quinbrook, Cleve Hill will power 102,000 homes annually, cutting carbon emissions by over 142,000 tons. In addition, the project is anticipated to create 2,300 jobs and contribute £143 million to Kent’s local economy. Tesco’s deal covers 65% of the solar output, while Shell manages the remaining 35% through a ten-year agreement. Both agreements secure long-term, inflation-protected revenue streams.
