Lesaffre, a major player in fermentation, and Qair, a renewable energy company, have inked a deal for the direct purchase of renewable electricity (CPPA) from an agrivoltaic plant, covering an estimated annual volume of 34 GWh. The project is set to commence construction in 2025 and become operational by 2026 in Hauts-de-France, curtailing about 630 tons of CO2 emissions annually while injecting 68 GWh of green electricity into the French grid. Following the initial agreement in 2023, Lesaffre’s commitment to decarbonization continues with this second CPPA for 18 years, supplying renewable energy to its Biospringer site in Maisons Alfort.
