Q ENERGY secures €50.4 M for floating solar project

Francebased Q ENERGY has closed a €50.4 million debt financing deal to fund its Les Ilots Blandin floating solar project. Arranged by Crédit Agricole Transitions & Energies and Bpifrance, the financing will support the construction of this 74.3 MW solar power plant in Haute-Marne, France. The plant will cover 127 hectares of former gravel pits and use 134,649 solar panels mounted on floats and is touted to become the largest of its kind in Europe. Once operational, it will supply green electricity to 37,000 residents and reduce annual CO2 emissions by 18,000 tons. The plant’s pre-commissioning is set for early 2025.
