The CEME1 480 MW Project, Chile’s largest PV installation, has achieved full capacity grid connection. PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited executed the project using high-performance modules from JA Solar. Covering 400 hectares, equivalent to 370 football fields, it represents about 10% of Chile’s renewable energy capacity. Located in the Atacama Desert, the project will generate 1 billion kWh annually, supplying clean energy to 400,000 households and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 280,000 tons each year. JA Solar has provided all modules for this venture.
