Great British Energy, the London-headquartered state-owned clean energy company under the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, has expanded its public sector renewables programme by investing another GBP 75 million (~ $100.5 million). This latest allocation has increased the total investment made since March 2025 to GBP 255 million (~ $341.7 million). The venture will be placed to install solar and micro-wind systems on 15 military camps, 270 NHS trusts, and 250 schools across England to lower the energy cost of operation. The partnership with the Ministry of Defence will assist remote training areas and equipment stations in diverting power savings into vital services, Great British Energy reveals. The initiative is also connected to the upcoming Clean Energy Jobs Plan, which will enhance worker rights and establish fair pay standards across publicly supported renewable projects in the United Kingdom.
