Pacific Partnerships, a CIMIC Group company, has acquired the development rights for the 700 MW Cobbora Solar Farm and a large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) in New South Wales. According to the company, this acquisition from Marble Energy, spanning 3,000 hectares near Dubbo, will be one of Australia’s largest solar farms, powering around 280,000 homes and including up to 1600MWh of BESS for on-demand energy. CIMIC company UGL will handle early works, operation, and maintenance. The Cobbora Solar Farm, part of the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone, will connect to the national grid through EnergyCo NSW infrastructure. An Environmental Impact Statement will be submitted to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment by late 2024 for public feedback.
