ORLEN Wind 3, a subsidiary of the Poland-based ORLEN Group, is set to acquire two PV farms and a wind farm from EDP Renewables Polska for approximately PLN 1.15 billion. According to the ORLEN Group, this acquisition will increase its renewable capacity by nearly 30%. The deal includes a PV farm in Chotków, Zielona Góra, operational since January 2024, with 61,000 panels and a 40 MWp capacity. Another farm in Przykona, Poznań, has a 200 MWp capacity, expanding by 40 MWp by year-end, making it Poland’s largest solar farm owned by ORLEN. The acquisition also includes the Warta wind farm in Łódź, with a 26 MW capacity. ORLEN aims for 9 GW of renewable capacity by 2030.
