US-based Origis Energy and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) have announced an expansion to their solar + storage portfolio through a power purchase agreement for the Hope Solar + Storage project in Clay County, Mississippi. The project will consist of a 200 MW (AC) solar installation and a 200 MW (800 MWh) storage facility, expected to begin operations by the end of 2028. Origis Energy will develop, construct, and operate the facility, and will supply power to TVA to support the growing population, energy demand, and sustainability goals of the state. The project will contribute $182 million in construction-related economic benefits and an additional $7.2 million in regional economic gains over the facility’s lifetime.
