India-headquartered NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd has secured a 1 GW solar power project from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) at a tariff of ₹2.56/kWh. The letter of award is awaited. NTPC REL, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd, emerged as the successful bidder in an e-reverse auction conducted on January 3. The auction aimed at setting up 2 GW ISTS-connected solar PV power projects in India.
