NTPC, India’s largest coal-fired power producer, announced plans to add 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2035, on GW-scale solar projects. The company aims to double its current 3.5 GW renewable capacity to 6 GW by 2025 and reach 19 GW by 2027. NTPC Green Energy’s INR 10,000 crore (~$11.83 billion) IPO will fund these projects while wind and battery projects will remain limited to 10% of its renewable portfolio.
