US-headquartered The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and NITI Aayog signed a Statement of Intent (SOI). The agreement aims to promote sustainable development and achieve energy independence in India by 2047.The partnership focuses on promoting clean energy projects and implementing strategic interventions at national and state levels. Key objectives include expanding renewable energy initiatives in at least 10 states, with a target of deploying 100 GW of renewable energy over the next three years. The partnership includes several aspects like the solarization of 6000 km of expressways and the empowerment of 100,000 women. GEAPP will collaborate with state governments, think tanks, and other partners to offer technical insights, conduct workshops, and support the implementation of policies.
