New York has achieved 6 GW of distributed solar, surpassing its Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act target a year early. This capacity powers over one million homes. The NY-Sun initiative has attracted $9.2 billion in private investments and created over 14,000 jobs, with large projects (>1 MW) following wage requirements. Governor Hochul instructed NYSERDA to raise the solar target to 10 GW by 2030, with 3.4 GW already under development. NYSERDA secured a $250 million US Environmental Protection Agency grant to support solar access for 6.8 million low-income residents in New York. A 5.7 MW New Scotland project, part of the Solar for All pilot, was recently completed, and benefits low-income households through National Grid.
