The New South Wales(NSW) Government has approved the AUD 880 million Goulburn River Solar Farm, a 450MW project located in the Upper Hunter Region, Australia. This large-scale solar farm will power approximately 191,000 homes annually and include a battery energy storage system (BESS) to enhance grid stability and energy security. The project will reduce CO2 emissions by 733,000 tonnes per year, supporting NSW’s net-zero emission targets. Additionally, the solar farm will generate 350 construction jobs, benefiting the local economy by prioritizing local workers and businesses.
