US-based independent power producer Navisun and community solar subscription management company Ampion have announced a partnership aimed at delivering affordable community solar energy across the Northeast and Midwest regions of the US. Navisun will be responsible for designing, constructing, and operating over 21 MW (DC) of solar assets across Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Illinois. Ampion will handle customer acquisition, billing, and long-term subscription management for these distributed solar generation projects. The partnership will focus on extending access to reliable and cost-effective solar energy, particularly to economically disadvantaged households and businesses. The project in Maine is set to be operational in November 2024.
