Mondragon Assembly has secured a contract to build a manufacturing line for Brite Solar, a key player in the European agrivoltaics market based in Greece. The line will produce semi-transparent photovoltaic modules for agrivoltaic applications, with some equipment operational by the end of the year. Brite Solar’s technology features patented transparent solar glass that meets various agricultural needs. Initially, the production capacity will be 150 MW further have potential to expand to 300 MW. This manufacturing line uniquely combines panel assembly with a coating process that promotes plant growth beneath the panels. Agrivoltaics, which integrates agriculture with solar energy generation, enhances agricultural efficiency and reduces costs. Brite Solar’s modules exemplify this innovative approach, allowing agriculture and energy production to coexist effectively.
