Government of Moldova planned two photovoltaic plants, a 50 MW plant in Rădeni and a 40 MW plant in Negureni. Government decisions were open for public consultations until January 15, 2025, before potential approval. The country introduced three support mechanisms for green energy producers. Net billing was implemented for small producers. A fixed tariff for 15 years was set for installations up to 1 MW photovoltaic or 4 MW wind capacity. Larger projects were offered a fixed price determined through auctions. The projects are expected to be operational by late 2025. In 2024, Moldova’s renewable energy capacity grew by more than 55%, with notable increases in photovoltaic installations.
