India’s Milma (Ernakulam Regional Milk Producers Cooperative Society (Milma)) in Kochi is setting up a 2 MW solar project at its Tripunithura plant. The total project cost is INR 16 crore (~$1.89 million), funded through a loan and Milma’s own funds. It includes 8 kW floating solar panels and 1,890 kW ground-mounted panels over 4.7 acres. The system will generate 2.9 million units of electricity annually. This will save INR 1.94 crore (~$0.229 million) in energy costs and cut carbon emissions by 2,400 metric tons yearly equivalent to planting 1,00,000 trees. ANERT offered technical advice, with KC Kopar Energy Solutions managing installation. Additionally, a renovation project worth INR 4 crore (~$0.47 million) is currently underway at the Edappally plant to enhance its production capabilities.
