Abu Dhabi’s clean energy company, Masdar signed a Joint Study Agreement with Malaysia’s Sarawak Energy and Gentari. The agreement is to assess the feasibility of a floating solar power plant at the Murum Hydroelectric Plant reservoir in Sarawak. This project, Masdar’s second floating solar venture in Southeast Asia after its 145 MW Cirata plant in Indonesia, would contribute to Malaysia’s goal of reaching 31% renewable energy by 2025. The feasibility study will assess technical requirements, environmental impacts, and economic viability of the project.
