Maruichi Leavitt Pipe & Tube (MLP&T), headquartered in Chicago, partners with Chaberton Energy, a Maryland-based renewable energy developer, for a 24-acre solar project on its 44-acre campus in Chicago. The installation adopts a hybrid model to meet corporate energy needs and provide clean energy to the community through a subscription-based program. Expected to reduce carbon emissions by 282,000 metric tons over its lifespan, the project marks MLP&T’s first US solar initiative. Part of the Japan-based Maruichi Steel Tube Group, MLP&T operates five tubing mills in Chicago.
