Zelestra, a Spain-based renewable energy developer backed by EQT, has completed the 50.4 MW José Cabrera solar plant in Guadalajara, Spain. The project was built by Zelestra’s internal EPC division and was completed within 12 months, achieving grid connection ahead of schedule. The José Cabrera facility is expected to generate 83 GWh annually, enough to power 24,000 homes while offsetting 11,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. The portfolio has been backed by a long-term vPPA with Graphic Packaging, ensuring stable demand for its clean electricity. Construction of the facility created over 200 jobs in Guadalajara and supported local economic development during the building phase. Zelestra has managed a portfolio exceeding 6 GW in Spain and was ranked by BloombergNEF among the top ten global corporate clean energy sellers. In the same collaboration, Zelestra and Graphic Packaging secured a new vPPA for the 19 MW Villamañán plant, expanding their joint portfolio beyond 100 MW.
