Madrid-headquartered Zelestra and Graphic Packaging International have signed a new long-term virtual Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA) to build a 19MW (DC) solar plant in Villamañán, León, Spain. This adds to their existing vPPA from August 2024, which supported the 83MW (DC) José Cabrera and Socovos II projects. The combined portfolio now exceeds 100MW (DC), supplying around 28,700MWh annually and offsetting over 4,900 tons of CO₂. The Villamañán plant is set for immediate construction and will begin operations in Q1 2026. Once completed, the total contracted capacity of about 70MW (DC) will be redistributed across all three sites. This arrangement is expected to provide renewable Guarantees of Origin for roughly 70% of total output. Zelestra’s Spain portfolio includes over 6GW, with 800MW under contract, construction, or operation.
