Voltalia, a France-based renewable energy firm, has signed a partnership with IFC, a member of the World Bank Group. The partnership focuses on introducing renewable energy projects for mines across Africa. It seeks to cut the mining sector’s use of fossil fuels by adding clean energy systems. It focused on deploying hybrid solar-wind installations, battery storage and power purchase agreements across selected African countries. Voltalia has provided technical and operational expertise, while IFC contributed to its development-driven approach. The initiative has supported the World Bank Group and African Development Bank’s Mission 300, which sought to connect 300 million people in Africa to reliable electricity by 2030.Earlier to this, Voltalia began production at its 45 MW solar plant in Dorsetto.
