China-based Trinasolar was named Tier 1 by S&P Global Commodity Insights. The recognition covered both solar PV modules and energy storage systems. S&P Global evaluated manufacturers on six criteria, including market share and sustainability performance. Companies were listed as Tier 1 after meeting at least four requirements. Trinasolar has operated for 28 years and pioneered 210mm technology. Its cumulative module shipments surpassed 200GW by June 2025, ranking first globally. The company expanded into energy storage in 2015, building complete system capabilities. By June, Trinasolar had shipped more than 12GWh of storage solutions. Annual shipments were expected to reach 8–10GWh by 2025. Its operations spanned more than 180 countries and regions worldwide. Sustainability efforts were recognized by S&P, MSCI, Sustainable Fitch, and BloombergNEF. Earlier to this, Trinasolar ranked top in BloombergNEF’s ESG report for Chinese PV manufacturers, further reinforcing its recognition alongside the S&P Global Tier 1 listing.
