TotalEnergies, a France-based global energy company focused on renewables, has agreed to acquire Germany-headquartered VSB Group from Partners Group for €1.57 billion (~$1.74 billion), including equity and shareholder loan. VSB has developed over 2 GW of onshore wind and is operating or building 475 MW, mainly in Germany and France. Its 18 GW pipeline spans wind, solar, and battery storage projects across Germany, Poland, and France. TotalEnergies said the deal strengthens its Integrated Power business in Germany and reinforces its position in France. Separately, TotalEnergies will sell 50% of a 2 GW solar and battery storage portfolio in Texas to Apollo-managed funds for $800 million, while retaining operational control and the remaining 50% stake. TotalEnergies has also acquired the 184 MW DC Big Sky Solar project in Alberta from RES.
