Daehwa Pharmaceutical, a Korean drug company, has entered a 20-year rooftop solar lease contract with TotalEnergies. The project will comprise a 1.8 MW PV system at Daehwa Pharmaceutical's production plant in Gangwon-do. TotalEnergies, an integrated energy firm from France, has confirmed that it will finance, build, operate, and maintain the system for the terms of the agreement. The roof-mounted installation is planned to comprise more than 2,800 solar modules and produce about 2,300 MWh of electricity per year. Daehwa Pharmaceutical stated the system is aimed to supply almost 20% of the power needs of the factory and lower about 1,000 tons of COâ‚‚ emissions every year. Business operation is planned to start in the second half of 2025, after obtaining necessary permits and construction completion. Recently, TotalEnergies has commissioned 263 MW of solar projects in Spain, as part of its European expansion into renewable.
