Sonnedix, a global renewable energy company, has bought five projects in Sicily and Lazio from Capital Dynamics, adding 226 MW. Four of them were already running, pushing Sonnedix’s operating capacity in Italy above 800 MW. Another 500 MW was being built, putting the company on track to reach 1 GW by the end of 2025. Sonnedix also had a 1.1 GW pipeline that could raise its Italian capacity to 2 GW within three years. In addition, Sonnedix has started building its first Battery Energy Storage System in Sicily. The 18 MW / 4H project is co-located with a 70 MW solar plant under construction, marking an expansion into hybridisation and advanced energy storage.Earlier, Sonnedix acquired a 12.6 MW solar project in Spain, further strengthening its European portfolio.
