Sonnedix, London headquartered, has acquired the 12.6MW Boreal solar project in Badajoz, Spain. The plant runs under Spain’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme, which helps provide steady income and lower market risk. With this deal, Sonnedix’s total solar capacity in Spain grew to over 1.25GW. The project supports Spain’s clean energy plans. The project was sold by Nordic Solar A/S. Eversheds Sutherland managed legal and tax advisory, KPMG conducted financial due diligence, and Vector Renewables provided technical assessments. The acquisition supports Sonnedix’s strategy to grow its regulated solar portfolio and maintain consistent cash flow across key European markets.Prior to this acquisition, Sonnedix secured €2 billion in refinancing across five European markets, enhancing its financial position to expand regulated solar assets, including the Boreal plant in Badajoz.
