Shoals Technologies Group, a US-based provider of electrical balance-of-system solutions, has entered the South American market through a 110 MW solar project in Chile. Shoals Technologies Group signed a contract to supply its Big Lead Assembly system to CJR Renewables, a Portugal-based EPC firm constructing the Alcones project in Marchigüe. The BLA system is expected to simplify installation, reduce labor needs, and improve system performance. The Alcones project is the first in Chile to use Shoals Technologies Group’s modular EBOS technology in a utility-scale deployment. CJR Renewables has stated that the facility would generate electricity for over 86,000 households and prevent more than 62,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. Shoals Technologies Group views this proceeding as a strategic step in expanding its international presence across utility-scale solar markets. Recently, Shoals Technologies Group also signed a MoU with UGT Renewables and Sun Africa to support 12 GW of solar developments.
