US-based Shoals Technologies, UGT Renewables and Sun Africa have signed an MOU to collaborate on up to 12 GW of solar projects from UGT’s pipeline. The first phase includes 600 MW of solar projects in Angola, scheduled to break ground in 2025. These projects are financed by Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank). Once completed, they are expected to provide electricity to 60% of the Angolan population. They will also improve access to clean water for over 1.1 million people. Shoals will provide its EBOS solutions to support these projects. It also strengthens Shoals’ presence in international markets and supports UGT Renewables and Sun Africa’s energy diversification efforts.
