France-based Schneider Electric has acquiredWattBuy, a US software company offering personalized energy insights and electrification solutions. WattBuy’s CEO and Co-Founder Naman Trivedi, along with the existing management team, is continuing to lead operations under Schneider Electric. The acquisition is designed to strengthen Schneider Electric’s residential energy portfolio by integrating WattBuy with subsidiaries EnergySage and Qmerit. EnergySage is an online marketplace for solar and storage, while Qmerit provides electrification services nationwide. Together, they are positioned to deliver end-to-end homeowner services covering energy plans, solar installations, EV charger deployment, and home upgrades. WattBuy’s API-first platform is already trusted by Redfin, Veterans United Home Loans, and Opendoor, reaching more than 100 million consumers. Its proprietary models generate customized recommendations for solar, storage, electricity plans, and overall energy costs.This acquisition followed Schneider Electric’s collaboration with Iberdrola on a microgrid project at its Barcelona factory, enhancing localized energy solutions.
