Velto Renewables, a France and Spain-based renewable energy operator, has acquired the 9 MW La Gineste solar park in La Tourette-Cabardès, Aude, from Q ENERGY on September 10, 2025. The project was developed with local participation by Q ENERGY and is equipped with over 15,000 PV modules. La Gineste solar park is expected to generate electricity equal to the annual demand of about 5,500 residents in the region. Its operation is estimated to avoid nearly 2,900 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. The site was previously unused but has been adapted to provide grazing land for livestock alongside solar generation. Velto Renewables, backed by investor La Caisse, is responsible for long-term operation of the facility. The acquisition has expanded Velto’s portfolio to over 280 MW of solar and wind projects across France and Spain. Earlier this year, Velto Renewables and Q ENERGY also announced the commissioning of a 74.3 MW floating solar project in Haute-Marne, further strengthening their collaboration.
