PV Hardware, a Spain-based manufacturer of solar tracking systems, has been selected to supply AxoneDuo Infinity trackers for the 139MW Doornhoek Solar Photovoltaic Project in South Africa’s Northwest Province. AMEA Power, a renewable energy developer from the UAE, is managing the project after it was awarded under Bid Window 6 of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme. The facility is expected to produce 325GWh annually, supplying electricity to approximately 97,000 households and offsetting 330,000 tons of Carbon emissions. Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd, headquartered in India, is responsible for construction. Standard Bank South Africa is providing $100 million in debt financing, while the Industrial Development Corporation is contributing equity. Earlier this year, PV Hardware also partnered with Opdenergy to supply 109.76MW of solar trackers for the Alcones project in Chile, expanding its portfolio in Latin America.
