POWERCHINA, an infrastructure and energy contractor based in China, announced its consortium has executed EPC contracts supporting the Afif 1 and Afif 2 PV plants in Saudi Arabia. POWERCHINA announced the contracts would total RMB 5.843 billion and RMB 5.876 billion respectively, for a combined worth of approximately $ 1.65 billion. The company's announcement states that scope is expected to include 2 GW of PV capacity supported by necessary grid and grid of interface works. Additionally, the announcement mentioned that the program will be completed within a 26-month execution in Afif Town. Prior to this, POWERCHINA and Risen Energy were delivering solar-storage capacity to remote Suriname communities.
