PowerBank Corporation, through its US subsidiary Abundant Solar Power, has signed lease and PPA with New York’s Division of Military and Naval Affairs (DMNA) for a 20 MW DC solar-plus-storage portfolio. The portfolio includes approximately 19 MW of solar PV and a 1 MW / 2 MWh battery system across Army National Guard sites in Ithaca, Kingston, Newark, and Camp Smith. The portfolio is awarded through a New York Power Authority (NYPA)-managed competitive process and will be developed, financed, and constructed by PowerBank. Electricity generated under the agreements will be supplied to DMNA through 20-year PPAs or community-solar subscriptions benefiting local residents. According to DMNA, the initiative has strengthened facility resiliency and reduced energy costs while expanding clean-energy access. Construction is expected to begin by late 2025 following interconnection, permitting, and financing approvals, furthering New York’s distributed solar and storage development goals. Recently, PowerBank Corporation has advanced construction on its 6.9 MW solar project in New York.
