Florida-based renewable energy developer NextEra Energy Resources, has completed its 200 MW Appleseed Solar Center in Indiana. The facility is operated by Appleseed Solar, LLC, and the power generated will be supplied to NIPSCO under a long-term PPA. The Appleseed Solar Center contributes around $30 million in tax revenue and helps employ people locally. Anthony Pedroni said the Cass County project has significantly strengthened Indiana’s energy infrastructure, while for NIPSCO, it aligns with its state resource planning goals. Of late, Madison Energy Infrastructure has strengthened its renewable portfolio in the US with the acquisition of NextEra's distributed generation platform capacity of 1 GW.
