Netherlands-based MPC Energy Solutions has signed a deal to sell its 50% stake in the 26.6 MW Planeta Rica solar project in Colombia. The stake was acquired in 2021 through a joint venture with Akuo Energy. The plant began operations in late 2023 and was fully commissioned in 2024. The sale is part of MPCES’s broader plan to exit Colombia. The company has already ceased and divested all development activities in the country. It still operates a 12.3 MW solar plant, which is also up for sale. The transaction is subject to standard closing conditions and is expected to complete in the coming months. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by the parties involved.
