Adapture Renewables, a California developer of utility-scale solar facilities, entered into two Environmental Attributes Purchase Agreements with Meta for 360MW of solar in Texas. The projects are within the ERCOT market and are expected to come online in 2027. The agreements are meant to help Meta pursue its clean energy expansion strategy and address increasing electricity demand from data centers and AI infrastructure. These deals are subsequent to three agreements entered into between both firms in 2023. In total, the five deals have covered almost 700MW of contracted solar capacity in three US states. The long-term buying of environmental attributes under these deals has facilitated project financing and solar deployment on a large scale. Adapture Renewables has also picked up its first hybrid solar and storage plant in Colorado earlier this year to add to its portfolio.
