Longi, a global solar technology company, has signed an agreement with ENGIE to deploy its Hi-MO 9 modules in utility-scale solar projects across the MENA region. The Hi-MO 9 modules feature back contact (BC) technology with 670 W power output, 24.8% efficiency, and 80% bifaciality. This design placed all electrodes at the rear, reducing shading and improving light capture and performance in high temperatures. The partnership marked a shift toward BC technology in large-scale solar projects. Both companies aimed to optimize land use and maintain environmental standards throughout project implementation. LONGi Solar Technology was named as winner of the The smarter E AWARD 2025 in the Category "Photovoltaics" for the application Hi-MO X10.
