LONGi Solar Technology Co., Ltd., China-based a solar manufacturer, was named a finalist for The smarter E AWARD 2025 in the Photovoltaics category for its Hi-MO X10 module. The Hi-MO X10 used passivated contacts on both polarities to reach efficiency levels of up to 24.8 percent. It incorporated TaiRay wafers, which improved mechanical strength. The module featured shading-optimized solar cells, where each cell acted as a bypass diode to minimize energy loss and hotspot risks. As per company, The Hi-MO X10 used HPBC 2.0 cell technology and TaiRay silicon wafers, achieving a maximum power output of 670 W, exceeding TOPCon modules by over 30 W. It marked the final generation of crystalline silicon cells to achieve a 1 percent absolute efficiency gain. Winners will be announced on May 6, 2025, at Messe München in Germany.
