JA Solar, a China-based manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, has been selected to supply 1 GW of DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules for two major solar projects in Azerbaijan. Developed by Masdar, a UAE-based renewable energy company, the Banka and Bilasuvar plants represent Azerbaijan’s largest utility-scale solar developments to date. The modules from JA Solar are designed for humid, coastal, and high dust environments which help enhance system reliability and decrease the levelized cost of electricity. Masdar announced that the projects will produce around 1.53billionkWh of electricity annually and avoid 1.15million tons of CO₂. These sites are in support of Azerbaijan’s National Strategy to diversify its energy mix and develop renewable capacity. JA Solar has shipped more than 280GW of global PV products as of Q1 2025, and operates in 178 accreditations and with 16 overseas subsidiaries. Earlier this year, JA Solar was also selected to supply the modules to Croatia’s 99MW Korlat solar project.
