JA Solar, a Chinese PV module manufacturer, has finished the first-phase shipment of DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules to the 1 GW SuoRong PV project in Sichuan Province, China. JA Solar stated that the project is situated on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau at altitudes of up to 4,700 meters where harsh weather conditions. In 2024, JA Solar won 2.4 GW of the 5.1 GW Yalong River Hydropower Development's PV module order, including 808 MW for the SuoRong site. The SuoRong project is part of the Yalong River Integrated Hydro-Wind-Solar Base, which has a planned capacity exceeding 80 GW. According to JA Solar, once commissioned, the SuoRong project will cut carbon emissions by 1.63 million tons per year. Earlier this year, JA Solar also inked a 220 MW module supply contract with JUWI for South African solar projects.
