Juwi Renewable Energies, the South African arm of the global JUWI Group, has signed two solar module supply agreements with JA Solar. Nearly 420,000 panels are being supplied for two large-scale projects totalling 220 MW. The 100 MW Sonvanger Solar Plant is for Glencore, in partnership with Pele Green Energy. The 120 MW Paarde Valley PV2 project is for Sasol and Air Liquide, with TotalEnergies, Mulilo and Reatile Group. Both projects are scheduled for completion in late 2026. They will supply 672,000 MWh of electricity annually. Around 625,000 tons of CO₂ emissions are expected to be avoided each year, equivalent to removing over 130,000 cars from the road. These projects are part of Juwi’s ZAR 6 billion (~$337.9 million) solar PV rollout. Once completed, they will increase South Africa’s total installed solar PV capacity by around 5%.MVV and JUWI also connected to a 13.5 MW solar park in Freudenberg.
