JA Solar, a China-based PV module manufacturer, has supplied its DeepBlue 4.0 Pro n-type modules for the Tomakomai Solar Power Plant in Hokkaido, Japan. The portfolio was undertaken by Tomakomai Port Development Co., JAPEX, and the Development Bank of Japan. The plant has the capacity of 20.57 MW (DC) and 13 MW (AC), and it is expected to generate about 23 million kWh annually while reducing CO2 emissions by some 9,700 tonnes annually. Located within Akeno Kita Industrial Park, the site is exposed to high wind speed, heavy snow, high humidity, and coastal conditions. JA Solar said its modules are certified to resist salt mist, ammonia, sand, dust, uneven snow load, and high winds. The manufacturer had previously supplied modules for Japan’s 29.8 MW Yufutsu plant in 2015 and 32 MW Shibetsu project in 2019. Earlier this year, JA Solar has supplied 100 MW of DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules for a solar project in Kabwe, Zambia, which was part of its continued international activities.
