JA Solar, a PV module manufacturing company from Beijing, has provided its DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules for the 100 MW Kabwe solar power plant in Zambia. The project is the largest independent PV installation in the country and will provide up to 180 million kWh of electricity annually. The generated output will be enough to power close to 150,000 homes in the area. The project has brought over 1,300 jobs to locals during construction and will cut Zambia's electricity deficit by as much as 30 % when fully running. Kabwe solar plant will be well-placed to contribute significantly towards bolstering the country's power supply and countering demand issues. Its share is set to complement wider energy access ambitions in Zambia while improving grid stability generally. At RE+ 2025 Las Vegas, JA Solar displayed DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules.
