Huasun, a China-based manufacturer of PV modules, has recently outlined its expanding desert PV portfolio supporting China’s dual-carbon strategy. Huasun said that its 4 GW Ruoqiang project near the Taklamakan Desert was commissioned in August 2025, covering 3,866 hectares of desert land. The Ruoqiang project, supplied with Huasun’s high-efficiency HJT modules, has lowered ground temperatures by 5 °C, increased soil moisture by 60%, and improved vegetation survival. Huasun has also provided high-efficiency heterojunction (HJT) modules for projects located in Bayannur, the Kubuqi Desert, and Urumqi’s Midong District. China has targeted 253 GW of desert-based solar installations by 2030 while rehabilitating 670,000 hectares of degraded land using renewable deployment. Huasun’s HJT modules are equipped with a –0.24%/°C temperature coefficient, high bifacial factor, and strong low-light response, showing greater stability than p-type and standard n-type modules. Most recently, Huasun was also awarded a 350 MW HJT module supply deal by China Huadian, further strengthening its large-scale project portfolio.
