Founder Group Limited, a Hong Kong-based investment holding company, has signed a Heads of Agreement with Planet QEOS Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysia-based technology firm, to jointly develop large-scale energy and digital infrastructure projects in Sarawak. The agreement has included a MYR 1.16 billion ($276 million) solar-plus-storage facility under the Baram DeepTech Energy Programme, featuring a 310 MW ground-mounted PV plant integrated with a 620 MWh BESS. The project has been described as Malaysia’s first firm solar installation designed to deliver dispatchable renewable power. The 310 MWp solar-plus-620 MWh storage facility is awaiting regulatory approvals, financial close, and a long-term PPA. Alongside this, the consortium has planned a 200 MW Tier-4 Green Data Centre Park on 350 acres in Baram, with both initiatives contributing to Sarawak’s 10 GW renewable energy target by 2030. Earlier this year, Founder Group has also secured a MYR 10 million contract for a 30 MW solar project in Malaysia, demonstrating continued regional involvement.
