Netherland-based MCPV, a member of the European Solar Manufacturing Council (ESMC), received a €10 million (~$11.35 million) grant for a 2.5 GW solar module facility in Tudela, Spain. The funding came from Spain’s Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) under a €300 million (~$340.72 million) allocation. MCPV also secured Dutch National Growth Fund support for a 4 GW solar cell plant in Veendam, Netherlands. Both projects aimed to reinforce Europe’s solar PV manufacturing capacity. Construction in Veendam is set for late 2026, with Tudela scheduled a year later. Permits are under process for both sites. MCPV planned to complete both facilities by 2029, focusing on silicon heterojunction technology.
