UAE-based EMSTEEL Group, steel and building materials manufacturers, partnered with Yellow Door Energy to develop a 31.5 MW industrial solar PV rooftop project in the UAE. The project covered 40 roofs at EMSTEEL’s ICAD 1 facilities in Abu Dhabi. Yellow Door Energy agreed to finance, build, own, operate, and maintain the system. Construction was scheduled for 2025, with commissioning in 2026. The system included rooftop and bifacial carport panels. It was expected to generate 50 million kWh annually and offset 16,000 metric tons of CO₂ each year for 25 years. EMSTEEL planned to self-consume all electricity. The project formed part of its strategy to reduce GHG emissions by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050. Yellow Door Energy & POWERX also signed PPA in South Africa.
